Elis and I heard from the local group that 4 Whimbrel were holed up at Gallows Bridge Farm. We were unable to set off immediately due to a prior commitment, but when the text arrived saying there were now 7 Whimbrel it was too much to resist. So off we went. The total number of Whimbrel there when we arrived was 0 and when we left, still 0!
Ah well. We did get some good looks at a Little Ringed Plover, smashing bird, and a Curlew.
